Peggy Harding White

Peggy Harding White, age 74, a lifelong New Castle resident, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 11, 2015 at her residence.

Peggy White- May 2015She was born December 28, 1940 in Hillsboro, Ohio, a daughter of the late Floyd and Neva Norris Harding. Peggy was raised in New Castle and was a 1959 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School.

She was a homemaker, and had worked for the New Castle Community Schools in the Special Education Department. She also had served as the Activities Director for Heritage House Convalescent Center, and had worked several years for McGrady Pharmacy.

She was active in many social and civic organizations including the Evening Optimist Club where she had served as past president, she was a tireless volunteer for Little League Baseball, Miracle League Baseball and youth basketball leagues. She was a fan of Notre Dame and Colts Football. She and her late husband, Arthur Ray White, were honored as Co-Citizens of the Year in 2011, recognizing their many years of unselfish service to New Castle and Henry County.

Peggy will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who worked diligently with a great deal of passion to assist children in New Castle and Henry County.

Left to cherish her loving memory include: three children, Bradley Ray White of New Castle, Angela Kay DeHoff (husband James) of Bluffton, IN, and Brent Aaron White (companion Kelli Tidaback) of Fishers, IN; five grandchildren, Shanna White of New Castle, Kyle DeHoff of Bluffton, IN, Ashlyn DeHoff of Bluffton, IN, Shauntel Creque-White of New Castle, and Justin White of New Castle; three sisters, Juanita Parker (companion Jack Smith) of Greenfield, IN, Patricia Harding of New Castle, and Diana Balogh (husband Dan Moore) of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters-in-law, Janet Miller of New Castle and Linda Haynes (husband Jack) of New Castle; also many nieces nephews and cousins survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Ray White, whom she married October 4, 1958 and passed away April 23, 2012.

Friends may visit from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at The First Baptist church Family Life Center, 709 South Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16th, 2015 at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center with Pastor Eric Haler officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition in New Castle.

Arrangements are being handled by Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services in New Castle.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Miracle League Baseball, Little League Basketball, and Henry County Community Foundation c/o Ray White Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church to assist donors.
